Vinicius Junior finally opened his voice regarding the news smeared by Karim Benzema. Vinicius insists the sound recording is not circulating for him.
Benzema together Ferland mendy caught on camera gossiping about Vinicius in the hallway of the Borussia Park stadium, when Real Madrid faced Borussia Moenchengladbach in the Champions League, Wednesday (28/10/2020). The video of the conversation went viral on social media.
The incident occurred before the players returned to the field to play the second half, during which Madrid were trailing 0-1. Vinicius’s position is actually not far from Benzema and Mendy, but because they both speak French, Vinicius doesn’t seem to understand.
In the conversation on the video, Benzema asked Mendy not to pass the ball to Vinicius. He said the Brazilian player performed poorly in the first half and wasted many opportunities.
Benzema had responded to the news via social media. He wrote the phrase “When Dogs barked. No. 9 passes” in Instagram stories.
Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has also spoken out, stating that Benzema and Vinicius have cleared up the rumors. So, now Vinicius provides clarification and defends Benzema.
“It was noise. It was not for me,” Vinicius told the ABC.
“Among football professionals, we know very well what it is. There are codes that you do not know. Karim and I are not just teammates. We are professional and we know where we are. My relationship with Karim is very good,” Vinicius confirms.
In the same interview, Vinicius was asked about his style of play, his preference for dribbling, something which led to complaints from Benzema suggesting that his partner was an individualist.
“Dribbling is in my blood, it’s my style since I was little. I’ve always liked football at maximum speed and looked for one-on-one situations. When I arrived at Real Madrid I knew that I had to add other things to my style,” he stressed. .
