Real Madrid has made a move at the top of the La Liga table. The series finale against runner-up Girona ended in a 4-0 triumph for the home team in Real Madrid. Much thanks to Vinicius Junior, who was in a game mood.
Brassen opened the scoring in the sixth minute and it was delicious. Vinicius Junior broke in from the left wing and with a finish from distance he smashed in 1-0 into the far end.
2-0 came in the 35th minute. Vinicius Junior flicked an elegant cross with the outside to a deep-running Jude Bellingham, who broke free to make it 2-0.
2-0 was the score at the break.
– The whole way he tackles the half is enormous class, said TV4’s expert commentator Vicki Blommé about Vinicius Junior in Football Saturday Europe.

Ten minutes into the second half, Real Madrid stepped up again. Vinicius Junior spun up Yan Couto on the left wing and then finished from a tight angle inside the penalty area. Girona keeper Paulo Gazzaniga made the save, but Bellingham was able to slot home their second goal of the game with ease.
– What a match he makes, said Blommé about Vinicius Junior’s performance.
Shortly thereafter, Bellingham unlaced his boots on the infield and was replaced. The Englishman had previously received a brusque stamp on one foot.
The fourth goal of the match came with half an hour left in regular time. Rodrygo took off at the height of midfield, advanced a good distance and then put the ball behind Gazzaniga.
The series final ended 4-0 and in extra time Real Madrid’s Joselu burned a penalty.
– A show of strength. Real Madrid is rushing towards the title, said Blommé.
The result means that leaders Real Madrid are now five points behind second-placed Girona.
– When Vinicius Junior plays at this level, he is in my opinion the best player in the world, says Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
