Vineyards: Under the microscope blueprints and notes – The possible targets –

The Anti-Terrorist Service is trying to put together the pieces of the puzzle in the case that came to light after the powerful explosion in an apartment in Ampelokipi.

After the analysis of the evidence, the fingerprints and the genetic material from the body found in the Ampelokipi yafka, EL.AS. identified the man.

The identification of the 36-year-old

He is a 36-year-old man, who was present at the mobilizations of the anti-authoritarian space. He had previously been arrested during incidents in Berlin, where he had even given his fingerprints.

The 36-year-old was brought among other cases in the mobilization of anti-authoritarians at the offices of a Turkish airline in October 2022. There, his 32-year-old girlfriend was arrested who was seriously injured in the same explosion.

Finally, the identification of the 36-year-old was based on a small part of his palm and a finger (after his body was dismembered) by the German authorities. He had participated in an anarchist mobilization at the Greek consulate in Berlin and there was a record of his fingerprints at the time.

The first arrested person refuses

He presented himself to the Anti-Terrorist Service on the evening of Friday, November 1 alone, and then a 31-year-old man was arrested whose presence was detected shortly after the explosion near the apartment building on Arkadias Street.

The prosecutor brought criminal charges against the 31-year-old for 4 felonies and 2 misdemeanors. The same charges have been brought against the other 2 women, the 31-year-old and the 30-year-old wanted woman, and arrest warrants have been issued for the two women.

On the afternoon of Saturday, November 2, the 31-year-old walked through the door of the interrogator, where he was given a deadline of Tuesday to prepare his statement.

He denies his involvement in the case.

What witnesses say – He shouted “What did he do?”

According to witnesses, the 31-year-old was inside the apartment building at the time of the explosion. They claim that he was seen leaving the apartment immediately after the explosion.

In fact, they reported that they heard him shouting “What did he do?”. The police established from security cameras in the area that it is the 31-year-old.

“This is a terrorist organization”

The honorary president of police officers of south-east Attica, George Kalliakmanisemphasized to MEGA that this is a terrorist organization.

As he said, first “all the people entering the Yafka who were related to this terrorist organization must be identified. This is a terrorist organization, third generation terrorists. Let’s see what the target was, where they would put the bomb. I think it is certain that on the day the bomb went off, it would have been planted by nightfall. They don’t leave the bombs ready, connected inside the yafkas. By the evening they would put her somewhere.”

However, so far it has not become clear what the target would be and there are only scenarios and speculations.

He added that it remains to be seen what other terrorist attacks they are involved in. According to him, “we have had two strikes in the past: the bomb outside the MAT and the bomb outside the Ministry of Labour. Both of these had enough explosives.”

He added that “there may be other persons, the basic investigation is to identify all persons first. Some evidence was found in the apartment that shows similarities with the case of placing a bomb outside the MAT in Goudi”.

Terrorist organizations are concentric circles

Giorgos Kalliakmanis emphasized that “a timer was found which was used identically for the bomb outside the MAT. We have seen that these terrorist organizations operate as concentric circles. There are some who may be involved in both.”

The estimate for the explosion in Ampelokipi

According to him, “explosives are very dangerous. They never have the detonator in the explosive unless they intend to move it immediately. So I think that maybe from the movement or construction to place him directly, maybe then the explosion happened. There are many scenarios for the arrested person as well. He may have gone to get the bomb to plant it somewhere. He says he’s not involved and says he’s only mediating for the keys.”

Key the materials used for the mechanism

As the anti-terrorist officers estimate, according to ERT, the apartment on Arkadias Street was the terminal of the bomb, shortly before it was placed on the organization’s target.

The improvised mechanism had been constructed elsewhere. It was taken to the apartment to complete the wiring, but something went wrong and the fatal explosion occurred.

A sack was found next to the crater created by the shock wave. They had recently bought it and they were going to plant the bomb in it.

The explosive used by the bomber was commercial, i.e. gelato dynamite or ammonium dynamite.

In the pocket of the 32-year-old woman who was injured by the shock wave, her identity card was found and thus the authorities knew from the first moment that she was marked by the State Security.

According to the anti-terrorist, so far three houses and one car have been searched, where 2 pistols, a lot of digital evidence, mobile phones, sim cards, wigs, masks, a lot of keys, handwritten notes and blueprints have been found and confiscated.

In the microscope blueprints and notes

Under the microscope of the anti-terrorist the blueprints and notes found after searches of three houses and a car.

The handwritten notes and blueprints are expected to give impetus to the Anti-Terrorist investigations, police sources say. Perhaps in the blueprints and notes they will locate the target where they would place the bomb that exploded in the hands of the 36-year-old dead man.

Also, mobile phones were found that were probably used in previous terrorist attacks, while, according to ERT, two unused mobile phones were found under the rubble in their boxes, with which they would have made the warning calls for the placement of the bomb.

According to police pyrotechnicians, the bomb consisted of five kilograms of commercial explosives, probably ammonium, dynamite or gelato dynamite.
