Vincent Kompany, Burnley coach, prosecuted after his exclusion from Chelsea

Vincent Kompany, Burnley coach, faces sanction from the English Football Association (FA) after being sent to the locker room during Saturday’s Premier League match at Chelsea (2-2). The FA confirmed on Wednesday that it had opened proceedings against the behavior of the former Red Devil.

Kompany is being prosecuted for inappropriate and/or offensive language/behavior towards an official. He is also accused of having questioned his integrity. Kompany has until Friday 7 p.m. to respond to these accusations. Last Saturday, Kompany saw his French defender Lorenz Assignon sent off (40th) following a foul which allowed Chelsea to obtain a penalty. When the former Anderlecht coach protested, he was asked to accompany his player to the locker room (43rd). Chelsea opened the scoring following the penalty.

After the match, Kompany said he had apologized to referee Darren England for his comments. At the same time, “Vince the Prince” pointed out that “Refereeing in the Premier League this season is simply not good enough“.
