In concert version, the Royal Theater from Madrid the zarzuela will go on stage Crownattributed to Sebastián Durón, in co-production with the Opéra Comique de Paris, the Opéra de Lille, the Opera de Rouen and the Opera de Limoges.

It will be next June 10, in a single performance, with musical direction by Vincent Dumestre at the helm of Le Poème Harmonique. Their music stands will be joined by the solo voices of Ana Quintans (Coronis), Isabelle Druet (Tritón), Victoire Bunel (Sirene), Anthéa Pichanik (Meandro) and Marielou Jacquard (Apolo), among others.

“Traversed by two crossed actions and populated by characters belonging to different lineages – the nymph Coronis, the monster Triton, the gods Neptune and Apollo and the “gracious” Menander and Sirene –, this zarzuela with a pastoral theme – as explained by the coliseum – combines tragic and burlesque episodes and exhibits a stimulating variety of stylistic registers -Hispanic, French and Italian- in the form of lavish choruses, intense moanslively sets and typical tunes of the autochthonous theater that make it one of the most surprising and enjoyable works of the entire Spanish Baroque”.
