Mananthavadi: Soccer Star Vallioorkav team won the football tournament organized as part of Janmaitri Excise Squad Vimukti Bodhvatkarana Mission. The One Day Lions Football Tournament was organized for the tribal clubs of Mananthavadi Taluk. Soccerstar Valliyoorkau defeated Soccer Boys Kammana by one goal in the final match.
Rajesh of the Soccerstar team was adjudged the best goalkeeper, Krishnadas as the best player, Sanesh of Kammana’s Soccer Boys as the best stopper and Anish as the top scorer. O.R. Kelu MLA The competition was inaugurated. Councilor K.C. Sunil Kumar presided. Excise Deputy Commissioner K.S. Shaji gave an anti-drug message. Former President of Mananthavadi Gram Panchayat E.M. Sreedharan, P.R. Jinosh and got to know the players. Mananthavadi block panchayat president Justin Baby and Indian women cricket team member Sajna Sajevan were the chief guests at the closing ceremony. They distributed prizes to the winners.
Janmaitri Circle Inspector S. Sanil, Preventive Officer K.P. Latif, civil excise officers Mansoor Ali, Ajesh Vijayan and Rajesh K. Thomas, Vijesh Kumar, women civil excise officers Jayashree and Anila led the competitions. 12 teams participated in the competition.
