With spring in full swing, the Vilnius Tourism Information Center (TIC) opened its doors to the residents of the capital and its guests in new premises, Pilies st. 7. Most of them, about 74 percent, were foreigners, the majority of tourists came from Germany, Poland, Great Britain and France. Tourists are most interested in sights, excursions, various entertainment and tourism services, opportunities for gastronomic experiences and city events.
Artificial intelligence comes to the rescue
The new Vilnius TIC will offer visitors a variety of experiences, exploring the culture and history of the city and trying out interesting leisure activities. Go Vilnius manager Dovilė Aleksandravičienė notes that personalized travel planning services, an interactive presentation of Vilnius and a virtual assistant will ensure that every guest discovers the unique face of Vilnius. “In the new center, artificial intelligence is used to serve tourists – the virtual assistant will communicate according to selected topics, taking into account the desired pace of research and available time in Vilnius. This will allow everyone to offer a personalized travel itinerary that meets their personal needs and expectations. In this way, we aim to ensure positive tourist experiences, which, we hope, will encourage them to come back here and at the same time recommend visiting the capital of Lithuania to their relatives, friends or colleagues”, says the manager of Go Vilnius. For the convenience of tourists, from May to September, the working hours of the TIC will be extended: it will be possible to visit every day from 9 am. until 7 p.m. Children will also have activities during route planning: in the new center, they will be able to create on a special interactive wall, the basis of which is specially created graffiti of Vilnius symbols.
The number of tourists increased by 12 percent.

Total inbound tourism in 2023 generated about 224 million for the capital. tourists usually find Vilnius as a destination for a short weekend trip (city break), and the most visited places are Gediminas Castle, the Hill of the Three Crosses, Vilnius University, the Palace of the Lords, the Vilnius Archcathedral with the bell tower, the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Struggles, the Republic of Užupis , Paupio turgus, Stiklo quarter, MO museum, Lukiški prison. This tourism season, new attractions have also opened in Vilnius – the recently restored Sapiegi Palace, the newest branch of the National Museum – the Pilininka House at the foot of Gediminas Hill, the Museum of Lithuanian Jewish Culture and Identity, new spaces in the Television Tower and others.
