Villiers-le-Bel: a police union broadcasts the video of the attack on a brigade

In the wake of the violence against the police in Poissy (Yvelines), late Saturday afternoon, a video posted on Twitter by the Independent Union of Police Commissioners (SICP), showing police officers taken to task in the district of Carreaux in Villiers-le-Bel, was seen by nearly 30,000 people in a few hours on Sunday.

It was a small number of police officers from the Field Security Brigade (BST) who carried out checks in the halls of buildings at the level of the Pierre-Corneille alley. They were the target of mortar fire. However, there were no injuries.

A person arrested

According to our information, one person was arrested and taken into police custody. It was not, however, urban violence of the magnitude of that in Poissy. Other sectors of Val-d’Oise would also have been affected this weekend.

Jean-Louis Marsac (PS), the mayor of Villiers-le-Bel, confirms that the Pierre-Corneille alley is “a sensitive address”.

“She was checked last week because of squats in halls and stairwells of buildings in particular and drug problems. A team of pissers (sic) annoys the residents and generates noise pollution. It is one of the bad addresses at the moment, ”he says, insisting on the partnership between the national police and the city services.

Detonations after the curfew

Several inhabitants of different parts of the Carreaux have also questioned themselves after hearing detonations of “very large firecrackers” after 6 pm last week, but without being able to locate them because they were at home because of the curfew. They would emanate more particularly from the north of the district.

A questionnaire published by the town hall to carry out a diagnosis of the quality in terms of safety is currently circulating at Les Carreaux. “Personally, I find the neighborhood to be rather quiet compared to a few years ago. It may be linked to the health crisis, ”noted a resident interviewed on Monday.
