There will ultimately not be any elimination of eight replacement Atsem (specialized territorial agent for nursery schools) positions in Villeurbanne. The city announced it this Wednesday, January 24 after a meeting to which the FO, Sud and CFDT unions of territorial staff were invited, according to Force Ouvrière.

Improvement of working conditions

The city is also committed to presenting proposals to improve the working conditions of these agents who work in nursery schools with children. In total, the city employs 36 Atsem.

A strike was observed on Tuesday in Villeurbanne schools at the call of teachers’ unions. “The town hall tells us that it has a budgetary concern, but this argument does not suit us,” denounced on BFM Lyon Frédéric Arsane, general secretary of the Union Locale FO union in Villeurbanne.

After-school care and canteens were disrupted that day and three nursery schools were completely closed: the Croix-Luizet, Jean-Jaurès and Saint-Exupéry establishments.
