The Villeurbanne Christmas Market this year is highly anticipated. After a lighter 2021 edition due to the Covid-19 epidemic, this event promises to be particularly festive with a new program from 14 to 24 December 2022 inclusive.
After the 2022 Festival of Lights, which will take place from 8 to 11 December in Lyon, the neighbors of Villeurbannais will extend the festivities with a Christmas market. In collaboration with actu.fraround thirty chalets will be set up all over avenue Henri-Barbusse, in Gratte-Ciel.
A Christmas market on December 24: a first in Villeurbanne
The program is unique, according to Caroline Roger-Seppi, city councilor responsible for events and trade promotion in Villeurbanne. “The Christmas market will continue for the first time until 24 December inclusive. We wanted the magic to be there until the last day. »
From 11:00 to 19:30, every day, a thirty chalets and four food trucks will await the people of Villeurbanne… but also the people of Lyon and the inhabitants of the surrounding towns, as the family program is bound to please everyone:
- A 100% artisanal and local Christmas market: decorations, fabrics, jewels, delicacies, food trucks…
- Christmas snack at the Totem by the Tolstoy Factory: Saturday 10 from 10 to 18, Wednesday 14 from 14 to 18 and Saturday 17 from 10 to 18
- Inauguration Wednesday 14 December from 16:30 to 19:00
- Friday 16 December: inauguration of “Vital” light show. place Lazare Goujon with one night until 9pm
- Saturday 17 December: Christmas in band with make-up workshop
- Sunday 18 December: Christmas of the associations. From 14:00 to 19:30: workshops to learn how to make pallet trees, beeswax food wrappers, sponges, wooden Christmas balls, washable sponges (tawashi) and also to learn how to handle a furoshiki (gift package in japanese cloth)
- Tuesday 20 December: Christmas “happy hour” with 3 DJs ea giant blind test from 18:00 to 21:00
- Wednesday 21 December: Children’s Christmas with magic show from 2 to 6 pm and make-up workshops.
“It’s gonna be a party”
As you may have noticed when browsing the program, evenings will be organised. There are three: Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Tuesday 20 December. “There’s something for everyone, it’s going to be a party!” “, assures Caroline Roger-Seppi.
For the moment, no instructions are provided regarding the use of the mask. “There is no recommendation,” the municipality tells us. The town hall intends to organize a magical Christmas market while also respecting energy sobriety, despite special lighting that will “dress up the avenue”.
