This Saturday June 5 marked the 47th World Environment Day. The opportunity to raise awareness among Villeneuvois schoolchildren.
Usually, activities are set up to mark this day, in particular with the pupils of the schools of the town. However this year, health context requires, the town hall had to review its copy and therefore had the idea of offering an “ecological quiz” to 480 students from Lhermitte and Montolivet schools, “To raise awareness in a different way”, explains Mayor Pascale Bories.
To do this, the town hall distributed the quiz to students, a quiz of 18 questions in all on four themes: biodiversity, behavior, water and air. A hundred students participated, and the twenty best were distinguished on Saturday morning at the Pompidou garden with a kit for gardening at home and a book by the Villeneuve youth author Cécile Miraglio.
The occasion also for Pascale Bories to recall the action of the municipality for the environment, in particular the Cit’ergie approach, the labeling program of ADEME in which Villeneuve is committed, the lighting plan, support local agriculture in the Abbey plain or the work on the cycle path of the Kingdom Bridge loop, currently underway.
