Despite the containment measures, Sid-Ahmed Ghlam’s trial resumed on Thursday at the Paris Assize Court. This Thursday’s hearing is devoted to examining the case of the two defendants judged absent, Abdelnasser Benyoucef and Samir Nouad, both considered to be the sponsors of the attack project against a church of Villejuif (Val de Marne) in April 2015.
Abdelnasser Benyoucef, a jihad veteran, leader of external operations
of the group Islamic state, and his right-hand man Samir Nouad probably died in the Syrian-Iraqi area.
The civil parties representing in particular the family of Aurélie Châtelain, a young mother of 32 years murdered in Villejuif near the church targeted by the attempted attack, will speak on Friday.
The indictments will be pronounced Monday before leaving the floor to the lawyers of the eight defendants. The verdict is expected on November 5.
