Villages with Long Lasting Marriages, What Is Divorce?

Inside the church complex there is a prison used by married couples. Just like today, medieval married couples used to have problems such as quarrels, infidelities, and ended up wanting a divorce. The church realized that it had a role to play in keeping the villagers under the old Christian order.
