A village official in Panglima Estino, Sulu has handed over loose firearms, ammunition and explosives to the headquarters of the Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) in Zamboanga City. The war materials, including a Springfield caliber .30 M1 Garand Rifle, were surrendered by Jimsir Ammad, village chief of Likbah, Panglima Estino, Sulu on May 4, and were received by Rear Admiral Donn Anthony Miraflor, NFWM commander. The surrender of the war materials was facilitated by the operating units of NFWM in coordination with the Joint Task Force Sulu. This effort is one of the steps taken by authorities to counter the proliferation of loose firearms and ensure the safety of communities in Western Mindanao.
