“Village of Roul’Toudou hosts solidarity project for mini MRI funding at CH of Perpignan”

Vroom vrooms roared this Saturday April 29, 2023, at the very beginning of the afternoon, on the side of the Maillol alleys in Perpignan. Twenty sublime vintage motorcycles, piloted by members of the association Les Widow Sons Lafayette – whose president is called Thierry Bernard – made a remarkable irruption on the esplanade. In the village of Roul’Toudou these friendly bikers were eagerly awaited.

“We try to give children a moment of happiness and escape, especially the most fragile among them.“confided upstream Alix Achard the spokesperson for the PharmaVie association, initiator of the event. Continuing: “It is within the framework of the national project “L’Hôpital de mon Doudou“that the association reassures hospitalized children by creating “fun and educational spaces within hospitals in France. Whether in radiotherapy, surgery or pediatric emergencies”.

This Saturday, volunteers from PharmaVie 66, supported in their action by members of Widows Sons Lafayette, had in their sights this project to finance a mini MRI, intended for 5-11 year olds, within the CH of Perpignan. “We have already raised some funds, and opened an online crowdfunding* further clarifies Alix. This afternoon (Saturday, editor’s note) the sales stand for our classic Toutdou (10 euros each) or Biker (15 euros with the little black leather jacket) soft toys should contribute to this kitty. But it is above all to see the children’s eyes shine that fills us with joy and emotion!

The children, around a hundred, who had come with their families, wanted to see everything and try out all the animation workshops (parade of old motorcycles, jeep for a ride on board, sale of Toudou, coloring activities and other games, Toudou biker mascots …) settled in the village of Roul’Toutdou. As for the (free) baptisms of two-wheelers, they have been a huge success with mini-bikers!
