Indonesian Village Government Association (Apdesi) support the President Joko Widodo to serve 3 terms. They reasoned that Jokowi had always granted the requests of village heads.
Most recently, the General Chairperson of Apdesi Surtawijaya submitted 5 demands to Jokowi. Apdesi requested the disbursement of the village head’s honorarium every month, an additional 3 percent of operational funds from the village fund, changing the village stamp, simplifying the SPJ disbursement process, and granting discretion for the use of BLT Desa.
Surtawijaya said Jokowi had promised to grant all requests. Thus, the village head will repay the debt by supporting Jokowi for 3 terms.
“What we want, he grants. Now we have reciprocity, he cares for us. Friends agreed earlier, three periods, continue,” said Surtawijaya when met at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (29/3).
Surtawijaya said all regional heads would support the plan. He also claimed that 50 percent of rural people would support Jokowi for three terms.
He said Apdesi would start Jokowi’s campaign for 3 periods after Eid later. The campaign will be carried out in stages in all regions from Sabang to Merauke.
Surtawijaya denied that this movement was masterminded by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. According to him, this movement is purely from the village heads.
“Nothing. He forbade it. You just met him, ‘Don’t tell stories like that.’ I don’t dare to speak,” he said.
