«The new cleaning, environmental hygiene and collection service for the city of Villa San Giovanni will start on 1 December: in this too we have broken every record, finally giving the city a project that lives up to its expectations and its dimensions, but in before the demands of its citizens.
The first period will be a transitory one: the new project, in fact, envisages radical changes both for cleaning and urban decoration, and for separate waste collection and for the opening (soon) of the ecological island.
During this first month the new company, economia Oggi, will have to carry out all the handovers and take “cognizance” of the territory of Villa San Giovanni.
Each of us administrators, obviously, has already given maximum availability to help in this transition phase: the technical office, the company, the dec of the new tender are all already at work committed 24 hours a day to giving our community those urgent answers that we have implemented and translated it into a new project for Villa San Giovanni.
Improving and strengthening services, using new and functional means that allow for city cleanliness and decorum, together with new rules that we will gradually present to the community and for which we will ask for sharing and respect, are the real ingredients that will allow us to have the city that we wanted.
Much of the work will be done by the workers who we already thought of during the drafting stage of the project: we did this by sharing the new contracts for the Villa contract workers with all the trade unions (who agreed to it). San Giovanni, who will be contracted by ecology today with the new national collective labor agreement and with full time on the Villa San Giovanni contract.
A new page clearly opens on December 1st: our certainty is that this project was built on the city’s needs; our hope is that each Villese can collaborate so that the challenges of the near future are achieved together.
We want a city that is clean, beautiful, kind and even in appearance: to do this we need important administrative choices but even more we need that civic sense inherent in each of us.
We will address everyone; we will arrive in each family with the delivery of the new tubs for waste collection and we will explain to each one what the new collection addresses are. There will be separate calendars for commercial activities and domestic users to guarantee a modern and adequate service.
We expect this not from the company that was awarded the contract and which is contractually bound to respect the specifications, but from the project that the branch councilor Ruggero Marra, the head of the urban quality and environmental hygiene technical office Salvatore Foti has carefully , the entire majority that leads the city has set up and already discussed with the community to guarantee its success.
There may be an initial inconvenience but we are certain that the quality of the service provided will be far superior to what we are used to.”
This is what we learn from a statement signed by the mayor, the council and the “City in Motion” council group.
