Villa María tests those who return from their vacations

The Ministry of Health of the municipality ordered that all people who return to the city after their holidays in another part of the province or the country have to do tests to rule out Covid-19 infections.

The tests are free and at the points that the municipality arranged to attend daily to asymptomatic people who believe they may have been in contact with a person with a positive diagnosis.

The new municipal health secretary, Pedro Trecco, said that “there are many young people who are returning to the city from their vacations, and if they are asymptomatic carriers they become vectors of this disease.”

The strategy set by the local government for the summer period is to massively test all asymptomatic people who wish to do so.

To take the test, people who return to the city should go to any of the testing centers that are underway next to the Municipal Amphitheater, in front of the Public Assistance and in the Civic Center. They all work from Monday to Friday, except for the Assistance Department, which also works on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

In Villa María there are 358 active cases, according to last Friday’s report, with 1,432 people isolated for being close contacts. In relation to the evolution of infections, around 120 new positive diagnoses per week remain stable.

From this Monday, through the municipality’s website, they begin to register people who wish to receive the Covid vaccine.
