Villa Florentine presents a new “collection of apartments”

After 4 years of work, the Villa Florentine, a member of Relais & Châteaux, offers five renovated apartments including a duplex penthouse. This collection of apartments overlooking the roofs of Vieux-Lyon has been added to the 29 rooms and suites of the hotel.

This collection of apartments from 110 to 148 m2 composed of 2 or 3 bedrooms occupies the historic building of 900 m2 and enjoys a panoramic view over the rooftops of Lyon, the Basilica of Fourvière to the Alps. This new project targets the usual family clientele of the French Florentine villa (55%) and border residents from Benelux, the Netherlands, England or the United States who wanted more space. A guest relation and 5 to 6 specially recruited people are dedicated to this space.

300,000 euros and a pair

The average length of stay in the hotel is two nights, with this investment of 300,000 euros the Arteloge group intends to extend the latter to a week or three nights at least. These fully equipped apartments with an office space will be available for booking between 1,000 and 2,500 euros per night. This bet will have lasted 4 and a half years. Beyond the respect of classified places, obtaining the building permit was a real obstacle “The building permit was very complicated to obtain because of the change of assignment of the housing apartments, in hotels”. The group had to make an agreement with the property developer OGIC to compensate for the change in use of the apartments. The Arteloge group acquired in compensation 380 m2 in a school project transformed into housing.

Exceptional apartments halfway between history and contemporary

Each apartment is a nod to Lyon’s heritage and the religious past of the Villa Florentine, each has a name of Saint the walls for their part display canvases or even silks framed by Maison Germain. Inspired by these centuries-old walls, decorator Kathleen Giorgi favored antiques that she associates with contemporary furniture and lighting. The period architectural elements such as the French ceilings, the Hungarian point parquet floors and the exposed stone vaults have been preserved and restored. Church pew, period paintings, gilded mirrors, consoles and antique crockery combine with top-of-the-range furniture to make customers feel at home.

After two years of uncertainty, the hotel industry is picking up again

On average, the Florentine villa has 85% occupancy, in 2021 it will record a turnover of 5 million euros against 5.5 million usually. While the Arteloge group claims a turnover of 25 million euros for all of its six establishments, including the Lyon Métropole hotel, which it projects at 43 million for 2022. The Villa Florentine projects a turnover of 750,000 euros for this set of five apartments.
