The Organizing Committee of the “Villa de Biescas” Amateur Theater Exhibition, an event organized by the City Council and the Diario del Altoaragón, has chosen from the 127 registered groups the six that will participate in the eleventh edition to be held from January 27 to March 23, 2024.
Furthermore, according to the rules, the winning group of the previous edition is the one that has to inaugurate the next one, with which the Theater Company under Construction (Elche-Alicante) will be in charge of doing so in the contest on January 27, with the work “The Vigil of the Brush”, of their own creation, they reported in a press release.
The chosen works and groups that have already confirmed their attendance are “When you don’t see the light”, by Twister Teatro (Rivas Vaciamadrid-Madrid), which will perform on February 3, “Zona Salvaje”, by Dríades Teatro (San Sebastián de los Reyes-Madrid), which will be on February 10; and “Verónica’s room”, by La Garnacha Teatro (La Rioja), on February 17.
Also “Life ahead”, by the group Entrecajas Fusión (Santander), which will be on February 24; “Vania”, by the company La Barraca de Federico (San Pedro del Pinatar-Murcia), on March 2; and “Yerma”, by Crisantemo Teatro (Cádiz), on March 9.
The closing and awards ceremony will be on March 23, but the Saturday before, as usual, the house group, Dorondón Teatro, will perform as a guest. The performances are scheduled at 8:00 p.m., at the Pablo Neruda Cultural Center.
