An official who worked as head of Community Services in the city of Santa Clara, in the province of Villa Clara, was arrested accused of diverting and reselling garbage tanks.
The fact was confirmed by the official profile Fuerza del Pueblo, which is linked to the Ministry of the Interior (Minint).
The page, dedicated to sharing Castro propaganda that seeks to make the government look good, assured that an investigation discovered the illegal acts of this person.
The report states that the detainee, who goes by the name of Dianel García, facilitated the diversion of these tanks through another person identified as Jorge Luis, who later sold them for 12,500 Cuban pesos (CUP) each.
“It turns out that this individual, responsible for the garbage collectors, so necessary to guarantee hygiene and health in the streets; facilitated their diversion by Jorge Luis, who sold them for 12,500 CUP, while Félix and his son-in-law resold them for 15 thousand CUP,” the publication claims.
Likewise, it was learned that this investigation continued, as it was necessary to determine the origin of the diverted tanks. Finally, the profile indicated that there were suspicions that there were more people involved in these acts.
“This fact continues under investigation, in order to detect the origin of the collectors, as well as the involvement of other people in this illegality,” the official note concluded.
Profiles such as Fuerza del Pueblo are used by the Castro government to carry out propaganda through media that are not officially linked to the State, however, many of the things shared by these pages are usually classified, making it clear that they have access to information that several independent pages do not have.
The objective of the profiles is to use social networks to give a good image to the regime and the National Revolutionary Police (PNR), this through stories of how various cases of violence and corruption are resolved.
However, by doing this, the pages are confirming complaints made by the independent press for years, which has pointed out an increase in insecurity and cases of abuse of power by regime officials.
