Vila Joiosa Requests Authorization for Anti-Storm Tank and Amadorio Park Redesign

The Joyous Villa

Vila Joiosa requests authorization from the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation to build an anti-storm tank to protect urban areas that are at risk of flooding and to remake the Amadorio Park project.

This was conveyed by Mayor Marcos Zaragoza to the General Director of Urban Planning, Landscape and Environmental Assessment, Miguel Ángel Iborra, in a meeting held today in Valencia at the headquarters of the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation.

As Zaragoza explained to Hoy por Hoy Benidorm, the Amadorio Park project dates back to 2013 but “we wanted to improve it and adapt it to the reality of the times so we are going to redraft it.” In this sense, the new project, for which there is still no start date, contemplates the creation of zip lines, leisure elements, a recreational area and everything necessary “to turn this area into a dynamic element of the municipality, not only for the vileros but for the entire region.”

Likewise, at the meeting, the first mayor of Vila also addressed with the CHJ various problems that concern several partial plans under development and that are affected by ravines.

On the one hand, the municipality asks the confederation to provide solutions regarding the situation of the existing ravine in PP-14, in the area of l’Almuixó, so that the Villajoyosa City Council can develop execution unit number 1 , to achieve the construction of a parking lot next to the new Doctor Álvaro Esquerdo public school.

On the other hand, it requests channeling the Ferrándiz ravine, located in PP-26, to modify its route and make it coincide with the planned roads, as has been carried out in the PP-33 and PP-27 sector, thus that progress would be made in this partial plan that has been paralyzed for more than 10 years.

Live Plan

On the other hand, Marcos Zaragoza has announced that on the 12th the Local Government Board will cede a plot of land in PP23, in the Gasparot area, to the Valencian Housing and Land Authority (EVHA) for the construction of social housing under rental regime.

The mayor of Vila has attended the presentation of the Plan Viu through which the Generalitat will build 23 social rental homes on the plot that the Consistory is going to give up. “We have more land that we will make available to the Ministry because we are ambitious in this sense. Housing has become incredibly expensive in the last ten or twelve years and the homework was not done, it is being done now. Vila Joiosa will be one of the municipalities that will enter that first round of public housing promotion,” he concluded.
