The Ukrainian midfielder of the Spanish “Girona” Viktor Tsygankov spoke about the adaptation in his current club, shared his impressions of the championship of Spain, and also touched on the conditions in which the championship of Ukraine is now held.
“Now I am getting an incredible experience. I think that my adaptation at Girona is going well, because the team and the coaching staff try to help me every day. This facilitates the adaptation process, for which I am very grateful.
I’m a striker and of course I like to score goals, but my main goal is to help the team win, it’s more important than my goals. I focus not on personal statistics, but on my contribution to the results of the team, to my help to the team. Although, of course, logically, if you score goals, you also help the team win.
I try to be myself on the pitch and work hard in training. I think with this attitude to work, you help the team. The head coach has a lot of individual conversations with me, he carefully explains to me what he wants from me in my position. And this happens before each match, because each opponent is individual, and we always start from this when choosing a game model.
As for the championship of Spain, this is the league of the highest level. Before moving to Girona, I played only in the Ukrainian championship, and I can say that everything is different here. Spain is completely different, very good level, very good teams and quality players. And every match is unique. So I really enjoy playing here.
The situation in Ukraine is a disaster for everyone. It is very difficult to play in Ukraine. Football without fans, in empty stadiums, while at any moment you are in danger, because you don’t know exactly where the next rocket can fly. It is very difficult for Ukrainians now, ”L`esportiu quotes Tsygankov.
