Viktor Orban’s government will not start new investments in Transylvania in the next two several years

Hungarian community company MTI writes that the Hungarian government will not start new cross-border investments in the upcoming two yrs – in areas inhabited by Hungarians, like Transylvania – because Budapest is focusing on completing all those presently underway.

The agency prices the mayor of Sfântu Gheorghe, Árpád Antal, who recalled a assertion built in Băile Tușnad by Key Minister Viktor Orban.

The final decision will come at a tough economic time for Hungary, struggling with fuel shortages, runaway inflation and the immediate devaluation of the forint.

We remind you that Hungary has invested tens of millions of euros in projects in Transylvania, devoted to the Hungarian local community: stadiums, universities, kindergartens, churches, cultural centers.

Mayor Árpád Antal made the announcement in the context of tries to establish a cultural and youth center in Sfântu Gheorghe, which would be created by the Sfântu Gheorghe City Hall, the Covasna County Council and the “Sapientia” Basis, with aid of the Hungarian state.
