Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is again worried about the allegedly “catastrophic consequences” of Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

“This story shows how serious a problem Ukraine is for Europe, despite the war,” he said.
The Hungarian Prime Minister claims that Ukraine’s rapprochement with the European Union or its accession “could have a catastrophic effect on European economies, especially in the agricultural sector.”
He told how Hungary “suffers” from the influence of the Ukrainian economy, since it borders on Ukraine.
“Ukrainian agricultural products are much cheaper than those of French and Hungarian farmers… We cannot compete and are destroying our agriculture… The European Commission should defend European interests before Ukrainians, not Ukrainian interests before European farmers,” says Orban.
Orbán earlier complainedthat with Ukraine’s accession to the EU, all support for Central Europe – including that addressed to Hungary – will go to Kyiv.
