/ world today news/ On December 21, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held his annual press conference in Budapest. Orban said that giving Ukraine 50 billion euros from the EU budget over the next five years was a bad decision. “The funds are not available in the EU budget and must be obtained through loans,” added the Hungarian Prime Minister.
The EU summit ended in Brussels on December 15. Because of Hungary’s veto, it was unable to agree on providing 50 billion euros to support Ukraine. On the same day, Orbán said that Ukraine should not be given more money, but an end to the conflict.
