Viktor Gyökeres, 25, has scored goals and assists for Sporting this season, and was also decisive against ninth-placed Estoril at home in the league on Friday.
In the 21st minute, Gyökeres took the ball into the penalty area, then played sideways to teammate Marcus Edwards, who made it 1-0. Just before half-time it was time again, when Gyökeres played Edwards to make it 2-0, and at the beginning of the second half he also put Nuno Santos forward to make it 3-0.
Later, Pedro Goncalves also extended to 4-0 and Francisco Trincao to 5-0 on the scoreboard. For the latter’s goal, Gyökeres was responsible for another assist, which was thus the fourth goal he was behind this evening. Sporting eventually won 5-1, and tops the Portuguese league.
Gyökeres is now noted for 18 goals and twelve assists in 22 games this season.
Previously, information has been published that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are following Gyökeres, while Sporting has repeatedly made it clear that the Swede will only be sold if the buyout clause of 100 million euros, just over 1.1 billion Swedish kronor, is activated.
