Unfortunately, it happened that the book came out in the same week that we said goodbye to Viktor Freiberg forever and it was not possible to organize the opening party. Now the creators of the book feel it is time to get together and remember Victor for his birthday.
Victor Freiberg described the idea of publication nearly two years ago as a desire to “create a series of short, visually appealing commentaries that reflect two people’s movie-watching experience and draw readers into this world of cinema like Alice in the hole rabbit. ” Viktor was very pleased with the layout of the book: “I like it very much. Because the notebook doesn’t look like another movie book at all. The drawings are wonderful,” he wrote to the creators of the book, but unfortunately he didn’t expect a book. finished.
Cinema was the great passion of Doctor of Philology and Associate Professor Viktor Freiberg. Victor Freiberg’s writing talent was unexpectedly revealed when he published a diary in 2019 Medical history of a cinephile, which has garnered widespread attention among critics and readers and also received the Dzintara Sodum Prize in Literature. Also Victor’s second book (2021, company Screen and portal Cinematographic articles) was born thanks to Victor’s great love for cinema. But the third, last book Viktor Freiberg worked on was made in collaboration with Daniela Zacmani, who initially met Viktor as a teacher and film translator, but over time the two cinephiles became friends.
At the commemoration of Victor’s birthday, his relatives, friends and colleagues promised to share their memories of this erudite personality.
