Viktor Dyk will be Lucie‘s new singer. He replaces David Koller, who left the band this summer. Core quartet consisting of Michal Dvořák, Robert Kodym, PBCH. and drummer Štěpán Smetáček will join Dyk, who played with Lucía already in the 90s of the last century and drew attention to himself, among others, in the group Wanastowi Vjecy.
Lucy he is now working on a new album. At the same time, they are preparing a trip for 40 years on the scene next year, the group announced this Thursday.
Twenty-five years old Viktor Dyk he was involved in the bands Božská těta, Dorota BB, Outsider, Plavalaguna or Gaia Mesiah. He played in the musicals Michal Pavlíček Excalibur and The Picture of Dorian Gray, Němcová! or Love is love. Since 2006, he has been a permanent member of the RockOpera group, where he will represent King Creon in the rock opera Antigone and Oedipus Tyranus and Mephistopheles in Faust. “Singing in Lucia is not a dream come true for me, because I have not even thought of such an offer,” he said.
According to the bassist of PBCH., Real name Petr Břetislav Chovance,) after the first rehearsals with the band, Dyk became actively involved not only as a singer, but also as a guitarist and keyboard. “I am happy that the choice fell on Viktor, whom I know from the early days of the Dorota BB group. Back then, they played with us as an opening band. Robert Kodym and I loved Viktor’s singing, energy and enthusiasm. We’ve been good friends ever since,” reports PBCH.
Guitarist and singer Kodym then remembers how Lucie released the album Černý kočky, mokrý žáby in the autumn of 1994, and Dorothy BB’s album called Santa Puelo was released by the same company records. “Since then, Viktor and I have gotten to know each other well, and our musical destinations are always intertwined,” referring to Kodym.
The members of Lucie are in a new composition working on an album, which they call JOY. So far the last studio album is titled EvoLucie coming from 2018. Recently, Lucie prepared the best of fans from 2009 on vinyl, which is released in a limited edition as a box of four LPs with a booklet.
Lucie is also preparing a tour for 40 years on the scene. Next year, in the autumn, he will play in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Pilsen, Bratislava, Banská Bystrica and Košice. In the Czech capital, the concert will take place on December 9, 2025 in the O2 arena. “People who have been through the band or worked with him will appear on stage. We are also negotiating with foreign press,” Robert Kodym suggests. Live, the group will also remember the musical Lucie, more than a little love, presented by the Karlín Music Theater ten years ago.
The band entered the scene with their first single in 1988. In the following years, they released seven studio albums in a row. Between 1999 and 2002, she won first place in the Český slavík examination four times. Her biggest hits include Medvídek, Oheň, Screws in the Head and America.
