Viktor Djukanovic scores goal after goal, but is still kept out of Hammarby’s starting eleven. Against Malmö FF on Sunday, he jumped into the break, his sixth straight entry into the Allsvenskan after Bajen’s game system change, and then scored a consolation goal in the 3-1 loss.
The offensive 19-year-old pounded the ball into the crossbar, via the crossbar.
– I am happy about the goal but at the same time not happy because we lost the match, says Djukanovic.
But was it a nice goal?
– Yes. I know, I know, says Djukanovic and laughs.
He has scored five goals in the last six games in the series and says the following about the fact that he still does not get the chance in the starting eleven:
– I am professional and need to give maximum during every training and match. Maybe I’ll get the chance next game. We’ll see.
When Football Channel asks the Bajen coach Marti Cifuentes about how difficult it is to keep Djukanovic out of the starting eleven, he answers:
– It is good to have good players in all positions. Having many opportunities to change the game.
Cifuentes continues:
– The players who start the match and the players who finish the match are equally important. Viktor is doing very well. We’ll see next week.
Recently, Aftonbladet reported that Belgian OH Leuven submitted a bid of around SEK 35 million for Djukanovic, but that Hammarby’s response was that they do not want to sell the successful player.
Djukanovic, however, takes the nobbed bid in stride.
– I don’t know what I can say. Hammarby said no and then I came back here after the national team assignment to give my utmost. Now I scored a goal straight away, so I did a good job, says Djukanovic.
– I am a professional and if Hammarby then says no to an offer, I have no problem with that. I give maximum during every training and match.
In total, Djukanovic has scored nine goals in this year’s Allsvenskan.
