“Viktor Axelsen Discusses Rivalry with Anthony Ginting and Jonatan Christie in Badminton”

BOLASPORT.COM – Number one men’s singles badminton player, Viktor Axelsen, answered questions about his rivalry with Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie.

This question was received by Axelsen in a question and answer session with fans on his Twitter account @ViktorAxelsen—which finally got a blue tick—on Monday (24/4/2023).

Coincidentally, this is more than just Axelsen’s rivalry with Anthony and Jonatan who are both from Indonesia.

Anthony and Jonatan are also the best men’s singles players after Axelsen, at least when referring to the current BWF world rankings.

While Axelsen has been firmly in first place for the last 123 weeks, Anthony is in second place and followed by Jonatan in third place.

Anthony has met the Danish champion more often than Jonathan.

Since their first meeting at the 2017 Sudirman Cup, Anthony has faced the World Champion 15 times.

Anthony previously excelled in the meeting record against Axelsen with 4 wins from the first 6 meetings.

Unfortunately, Anthony was unable to maintain his lead when Axelsen started to dominate the competition in men’s singles since 2021.
