Vikings tame Rodgers and Jets 23-17 in London

London., Andrew Van Ginkel returned the first of three intercepted passes to Aaron Rodgers 63 yards for a touchdown and the Minnesota Vikings remained undefeated with a 23-17 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.

At Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, the Jets trailed 17-0 early but had one possession to win in the final minutes. But Stephon Gilmore intercepted Rodgers’ pass to Mike Williams and the Vikings fell 5-0 for the first time since 2016.

Van Ginkel caught a pass from Rodgers, broke a tackle and outran the Jets’ defense for a 63-yard score and a 10-0 lead. The linebacker had already achieved an interception that ended in a touchdown against Daniel Jones and the New York Giants.

Rodgers threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson to pull within 20-17 with just six minutes left before the Vikings rookie kicker converted a 41-yard field goal — his third of the game.

The bad start in London ended up sinking the Jets (2-3).

Rodgers was intercepted twice in the first quarter, something unprecedented in his career.

Sam Darnold, who was taken by the Jets with the third overall pick in the 2018 draft, completed 14 of 31 passes for 179 yards, with one interception and one fumble.

Rodgers finished 29 of 54 for 244 yards, with two touchdown passes and three interceptions. He became the ninth player in NFL history to reach 60,000 passing yards with his seven-yard pass to Tyler Conklin in the third quarter.
