Not even this Wednesday was anyone able to note 6+1 correct on their Vikinglotto coupon.
The first prize pool thus reaches the payment ceiling of 25 million euros, at the current exchange rate on the day of the draw. This means that the excess prize amount is now placed in the second prize pool.
Next week’s first prize pool is therefore approx. NOK 293 million, while the second prize makes a sharp jump and is approx. NOK 17 million.
Two Norwegian Vikinglotto millionaires
However, it was not completely free for winners. Two Norwegians had lucked out and scored 6+0 straight in Wednesday’s draw.
One of the winners had submitted the same coupon with the winning streak twice, resulting in him winning two-thirds of the second prize.

Man from Bø in Nordland: – Had a slight palpitation
On the third attempt, we got an answer from the recent Vikinglotto millionaire from Nordland. By then he was already aware that he had won.
– I saw that it had called from a somewhat special number, so I called back and checked the app, says the man.
– I had a slight palpitation when I saw that I had won, says the northerner happily.
The man says that he usually delivers the same line twice, which resulted in two thirds of the evening’s second prize and a total of NOK 3,480,250.
– It is absolutely sick. It hasn’t quite dawned on me yet, says the man and adds that he doesn’t have any concrete prize plans yet.
Both winning coupons were purchased on a mobile phone.
Man from Årdal in Vestland: – It hasn’t sunk in yet
The evening’s second Vikinglotto millionaire also did not answer the phone until the third attempt.
– I’ve checked the app, so I know I’ve won, the man beams happily.
The westerner says that the whole thing is still hard to believe, but that the prize of NOK 1,740,125 comes in handy.
– It hasn’t completely sunk in yet. It’s a little too good to be true, he laughs happily.
The recent Vikinglotto millionaire says that he has some thoughts about what the prize should be used for, but that he wants to keep it to himself.
The coupon was purchased on a mobile phone.
Fourth largest Vikinglotto prize in Norway
It is almost two and a half years since the first prize pot in the Viking lotto last reached the ceiling. That time the pot was left standing for several months, before a Dane secured the entire first prize pot of NOK 260 million.
If a Norwegian player is the next to guess the correct sequence of numbers in its entirety, that person will be paid the fourth largest Vikinglotto prize ever in this country.
The very largest Vikinglotto payout to a Norwegian is NOK 341.2 million and went to a woman from Oslo almost exactly six years ago.
The second largest payout is NOK 319.3 million and went to a man in April 2018, while the third largest payout came on Christmas Eve itself in 2020. Then it was a woman from Eastern Norway who won NOK 210 million.
