Vigil for girl killed by car in Brooklyn

They hold a vigil for the six-year-old girl who was hit by a car in Brooklyn this week.

On Tuesday night, Tamy Quema Guachiac was crossing the intersection of 67th Street and Twelfth Avenue when she was struck by a Lexus SUV.

The 30-year-old driver, Qiuhua Zhu remained at the scene, facing nine charges, including manslaughter and criminal negligence manslaughter.

– “We need that when you are out driving, do it as if you were your children who are on the street. These streets belong to everyone but they also belong to our children,” said a woman during the ceremony in memory of the minor.

Investigators indicated that the driver was turning at the intersection but the minor had the right of way.
