Vigenin pretends to be a man – finally jumped on Oresharsky! – 2024-10-06 19:28:07

/ world today news/ The left has not given up on the government. The strange thing is that the prime minister and the finance minister entered into a confrontation with the BSP, and not only with them, because they insist on updating the budget. This proposal was not agreed with the parties that supported the government and mainly the BSP, but rather with the new coalition that was formed between GERB and DPS.

This is what Christian Vigenin, who proved that we can do without the Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in front of the BNT cameras, novini.bg reports.

This is a government that was supported by BSP and DPS. The speed with which these update proposals were introduced did not allow for serious debate. Obviously future rulers will accept this update, he added. Vigenin also commented on the topic of the Bulgarian European Commissioner. I have always stated that there needs to be a meaningful and quality debate on this topic. At the consultations with the president, we agreed on exactly that. Bulgaria’s priorities had to be discussed. Now, suddenly, both Plamen Oresharski and the Prime Minister state that the candidate will be Kristalina Georgieva. I will never say a bad word about the Bulgarian European Commissioner, but things are not done that way. There should have been broad consultation and dialogue. The various applications had certain profiles for the given departments. They had to be discussed. Whatever I say now, it will appear that I am working against Georgieva’s candidacy, which is not the case. However, I think that her chances for the EU’s highest representative for foreign policy are minimal, Vigenin was categorical.

The situation in Ukraine was a major part of the activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the last year. We protected the Bulgarian interest as much as possible. I hope that the sanctions against Russia will not directly affect Bulgaria. I very much hope that these are the last sanctions that are imposed against Moscow. It is necessary to sit down at the negotiating table, stop the fire and solve the problem politically. Bulgaria has always had a clear and principled position. We defended the interests of the Bulgarian minority in Ukraine. I underestimated the media side of my visits there. Many of our sympathizers “attached” to the theses of Volen Siderov. I was not the first foreign minister to visit Kyiv. Bulgaria could not have any other position, explained the resigned foreign minister.
