On Friday, the two Ukrainian refugees Ivan Tkachuk and Nazsr Dobriansky were interviewed by Anne Lindmo on NRK. The two are 17 years old and are from Uman in Ukraine. The city was bombed on the first day of the war. On “Lindmo” they tell about their experiences of the war and the escape.
Norwegian Aleksander Johansen picked up the Ukrainian refugees, and is also in the interview.

NRK has shared clips from the interview on his Facebook-side, and several of the viewers react strongly in the comments field. The tone of the review among many of the comments is that two traumatized children are interviewed, and some also believe that the war is being turned into “weekend entertainment”.
One in the comments field calls the assessments of “Lindmo” and NRK “completely unethical”.
– Have really no adults in the editorial office seen that two clearly traumatized children should never have been used as an entertainment feature, the person in question asks.
Several of the comments also respond must be the same way. In addition, responses are made to parts of the interview being conducted in Norwegian. It is when Anne Lindmo talks to Johansen who picked up the refugees.

NRK answers
Council Secretary in the Broadcasting Council, Erik Skarrud, informs Dagbladet that there have been two complaints in the interview. One responds that the two refugees have been brought into the program. The other is that the interview is in English.
Project manager for “Lindmo”, Trine Sollie, tells in an e-mail to Dagbladet about the reason why the two refugees were interviewed.
– We wanted to tell the story of how three people were brought together by the brutal coincidences of the war. Because the war that is going on is the biggest and most important news item now, Sollie says to Dagbladet.
She further says that the editors assessed the refugees’ condition and ability to share their story, and that they also spoke to the parents who gave consent to the conduct of the interview.
About the reason why parts of the interview were conducted in Norwegian, Sollie says:
– We primarily want to speak Norwegian in the program and therefore chose to speak with the Norwegian in Norwegian about the practical implementation of the trip. But the conversation with the Ukrainian youth had to take place in English, Sollie concludes.
