The Klimperkasten Erlangen is a pub that has been around since 1986 and offers space for various musicians and bands to perform. There are only live music events.
During the week, the Klimperkasten with Karaōke offers a stage for amateur musicians and supports aspiring solo musicians and bands with special competitions. At weekends, regional musicians take to the stage and entertain the audience. The Klimperkasten is known nationwide and offers a sociable place for all generations. Whether young or old, they celebrate together here
The Klimperkasten has been closed continuously since March 15th. An opening with a reduced audience was never possible. Since the Klimperkasten can only open again with live music, it was no longer possible to operate the Klimperkast since then.
Since the closure, the Klimperkasten has offered the regular musicians a platform for live streams. The live streams are free of charge. The background to the live streams is the financial support of the musicians who regularly played in the Klimperkasten through donations from the audience. A donation account for the respective musician is shown in the live stream. All donations go directly to the artist. Social projects such as Sternstunden eV or the initiative for children with cancer are also financially supported through live streams. There are no costs for the musician. The Klimperkasten does not have any income from these events. The equipment, the organization and advertising are funded by the Klimperkasten altruistically.
The preservation of the musicians is paramount for the Klimperkasten. Live music performances should still be possible after the end of the pandemic. The live streams should offer viewers a bit of normality and a change from everyday Corona.
The number of viewers has increased many times over since the livestream began. Not only the guests of the Klimperkasten themselves are now among the viewers, but also a large number of other viewers who regularly follow the live streams.
The livestreams already have more than 100.000 Zuschauer delighted in front of the screens. With 25 live streams meanwhile, the Klimperkasten has been able to improve steadily and offer the musicians and the audience a chance to get together. The live streams always take place interactively, ie the audience talks to each other and also to the musician.
The live streams will be broadcast on the Facebook page of the Klimperkast.
