The week started with a lot of sunshine and temperatures above 30 degrees. The beginning heat wave continues at night. Late in the evening it was 28 degrees in the city of Vienna and the warm temperatures also remained in western Austria. In Innsbruck it was still warm 27 degrees. At night it shouldn’t get colder than 21 degrees here. In Bregenz, too, it shouldn’t be cooler than 21 degrees. This would mean that we have the first tropical night of the year. In the remaining state capitals, this will hardly be achieved. Here the night temperatures fluctuate between 17 and 19 degrees.
It then continues hot as the day progresses. With temperatures up to 36 degrees, Tuesday will be the hottest day of the year so far. After the sunny and especially hot Strart, cluster clouds form in the afternoon and thunderstorms can occur in the afternoon, especially in the mountains and south of the main Alpine ridge. In the evening and at night, the risk of thunderstorms also increases significantly on the north side of the Alps. The wind is weak to moderate from the southeast, in Tirol and Vorarlberg there is already a lively westerly wind. Early temperatures eleven to 20 degrees, maximum daily temperatures become sultry 28 to 36 degrees.
Already in the night to Wednesday, a fault zone lies on the north side of the Alps. In large parts of the country, clouds and sun change from early in the morning and rain showers come down, which can sometimes be thunderstorming. It is longer sunny only in the south and southeast, but here the risk of thunderstorms increases significantly in the afternoon and strong thunderstorms are also likely here. The wind is weak to moderate from the west, in the south it is weak from wind gusts. Early temperatures 16 to 23 degrees, maximum daily temperatures 24 to 33 degrees. It gets hot again in the south.
Only in the far south are there still clouds and last showers of thunderstorms on Thursday in the morning. Everywhere else the day starts sunny. During the day, however, there are generally some cumulus clouds that bring rain showers again, especially in the highlands, and thunderstorms on the southern side of the Alps. It stays dry in the lowlands. The wind is weak to moderate from west to north. Early temperatures eleven to 18 degrees, maximum daily temperatures 23 to 31 degrees.
The sun shines with high pressure on Friday, only a few high veil clouds appear in the sky. Even in the highlands, there are only a few and often harmless cumulus clouds. The wind is weak to moderate from west to north. Early temperatures twelve to 18 degrees, maximum daily temperatures 26 to 31 degrees.
