The Vietnam U-19 national team and the U-19 Thailand national team have been busy talking about Indonesian football lovers in the last three days. The reason is because of allegations of flirting involving Vietnam vs Thailand in the final matchday of Group A of the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup.

At that time when the score was 1-1, both Vietnam and Thailand were both reluctant to build attacks. Both teams seemed satisfied with the score, considering the 1-1 result was enough to pass Vietnam and Thailand to the semifinals of the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup.
Therefore, PSSI filed a protest with AFF. PSSI assessed that Vietnam and Thailand did not carry out the principle of fair play as they should.
“However, PSSI also saw that during the match between Thailand and Vietnam something was not going as it should (fair play). Is it appropriate for a large country like that to do that. PSSI is not accusing, but we are only asking questions,” said Mochamad Iriawan quoting from the official PSSI website.
”If they (Thailand vs Vietnam) play correctly, I have no problem. It looks like they are playing. This is what made us hurt,” continued the man who is usually called Iwan Bule.
“That’s why I will send an official letter of protest to the AFF so that they can investigate through the AFF Disciplinary Committee (Komdis). Is there a match fixing or not. If it’s not proven, that’s fine. Currently, many netizens are asking Indonesia to leave the AFF because they think there is a game,” said Iwan Bule.
The protest filed by PSSI made The Thao 247 panic. They open up the possibility of the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup semifinals being changed if Thailand and Vietnam are punished by the AFF.
“At this time the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Thailand Football Federation (FAT) have not made an official announcement regarding this incident. Without any unexpected decision from the AFF, the semifinals proceeded as usual,” wrote The Thao 247.
Vietnam scheduled to face Malaysia in the semifinals of the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup. The match will be held at Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium on Wednesday, 15 July 2022 at 15.30 WIB.
Then at the same stadium at 20.00 WIB, the Laos vs . match was held Thailand. One thing is for sure, it will be interesting to wait for AFF’s response regarding the protest submitted by PSSI.
