Vietnamese company VinFast has announced that it will start trading in Europe and North America, opening several offices in different countries. The brand was founded in 2017, and a year later participated in the Paris Motor Show. From the next 2022, VinFast will try to enter the already mentioned markets.
To this end, the company will open offices in Germany, France and the Netherlands, and also plans to enter the United States and Canada under a similar scheme, although most of the sales there are made online.
VinFast’s initial plans to produce 56,000 cars in 2022 have changed due to the semiconductor crisis, and the company is currently targeting 15,000 cars.
It is not yet clear which models will be offered to customers outside Vietnam, but it is known that in addition to cars, customers will have to pay a monthly rent for the batteries. The company says that it will be in a size that will be comparable to that for charging a car with a gasoline or diesel engine, and when the battery capacity drops below 70%, they will be replaced free of charge.
