The 10 types of vaccines include: more than 1.55 million doses against tuberculosis (BCG); one million doses against hepatitis B; 4.98 million doses of oral polio vaccine (OPV); 1.9 million doses against measles; 1.7 million doses against measles and rubella; 1.4 million doses against Japanese encephalitis; 1.53 million doses of combined diphtheria-pertussis-tetanus (DPT) vaccine; 1.47 million doses against tetanus and 1.37 million doses against tetanus and diphtheria (Td).
The quantity of these nine vaccines is sufficient to vaccinate the children who were missing in 2023 and the minors whose vaccination is scheduled for the first six months of 2024, said a representative of the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.
In particular, the Rota vaccine to prevent acute diarrhea (549,164 doses) is the new injectable that will be included in the Expanded Immunization Program for children under one year of age, which is expected to be implemented starting in the second quarter of this year. /.
