Vietnam seeks to strengthen cooperation with UK and India

Working visits by a delegation from the publishing group of the XIII socio-economic subcommitteee National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV) aimed to learn and exchange experiences to develop the Ten-Year Socio-Economic Development Strategy (2021-2030), and the Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan (2021-2025) to submit to XIIIe National Congress of the PCV. In addition, the Vietnamese delegation also studied the implementation of innovation activities and the establishment of the ecosystem of start-ups.

In the United Kingdom, the Vietnamese delegation met with certain large British groups such as KPMG, HSBC and ARUP; and visited the UK National Center for Innovation (NET).

British companies have said that factors such as market opening, high quality human resources and a transparent business environment would help promote socio-economic development as well as attract foreign investors.

Development policies should focus on long-term investment, green and sustainable development, they added.

Nguyên Chi Dung, also Vietnamese Minister of Planning and Investment, chaired a seminar on innovation and creativity with British companies who expressed their willingness to collaborate with Vietnam in this field.

The Vietnamese delegation also worked with the UK Department for International Trade and met with potential investors.

The British side described Vietnam as a new emerging market that has received a lot of attention from British companies in the Southeast Asia region.

He said the UK wants to cooperate with Vietnam in the areas of education, climate change, capital markets, renewable energy and building infrastructure …

The Vietnamese delegation then coordinated with the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Kingdom to organize a meeting with Vietnamese intellectuals in that country.

During its stay in India, the Vietnamese delegation had working sessions with the leaders of the Indian Ministry of Trade and Industry, the National Institute for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) group and the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC ).

She also visited Indian tech giants such as NASSCOM and Wipro. In addition, Minister Nguyên Chi Dung chaired two seminars on investment opportunities in Vietnam.
