Hanoi (VNA) The Prime Minister of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinhcalled on ministries and sectors to reinforce measures to ensure security and order, along with anti-epidemic measures, on the eve of Tet 2024 (Lunar New Year), the most important celebration of the year to be celebrated in mid-February 2024.
In a directive issued on the 15th of this month, the premier asked the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to chair and coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to closely monitor and understand the market situation, and proactively direct localities so that they prepare the supply of basic products, satisfying the demand of residents in a complete and timely manner, thus avoiding interruption in the supply of goods and sudden price increases.
At the same time, the premier stressed the need to guarantee the supply of electricity and gasoline before, during and after the festival, avoiding power outages under any circumstances.
The Ministry of Finance needs to coordinate closely with relevant agencies to closely monitor price developments and strictly handle price violations, while working with authorized agencies to prevent and combat smuggling, trade frauds, and trade in fake products and low quality.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was tasked with monitoring climate developments and preparing plans to respond to extreme weather conditions to ensure agricultural production, while cooperating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to ensure sufficient supply of food and food products, as well as food safety.
In particular, the head of the Government asked the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to provide timely and adequate support to policy beneficiaries during the festival, ensuring that all people can enjoy a warm Tet.
The Portfolio should pay attention to providing optimal conditions for workers in industrial parks, EPZs and economic zones to return home during vacations and then to work, with special attention to workers who suffer loss and reduction of income , as well as unemployment due to natural disasters, epidemics and business reduction.
The Ministry of Transportation was ordered to strengthen transportation management to meet people’s increasing travel demand during the festival.
Pham Minh Chinh also stressed the need for ministries, sectors and agencies to implement drastic measures to prevent epidemics, protect the safety of political, social and cultural activities, and ensure defense and security./.
