VIVA – Vietnam National Team coach, Philippe Troussier acknowledged the strength of the Indonesian National Team after his team lost the second match in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup.
Vietnam lost 0-1 in the match which took place at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Doha, Qatar, Friday 19 January 2024. Asnawi Mangkualam’s goal through a penalty in the 42nd minute was the difference in this match.
After the match, Philippe Troussier admitted that the Indonesian National Team had more strength than his team. This is because there are several naturalized players.

“The opponent has a much better and more qualified squad. They have additional naturalized players from Europe. The competitive level of the two teams is different. “Indonesia has high professional quality,” said Troussier.
