Hanoi (VNA) – Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Ho Duc Phoc signed a decision to promulgate the National Strategy on the application and development of blockchain technology until 2025, with a vision until 2030.
Under the strategy, Vietnam will become one of the leading countries in the region and will have an international position in the research, deployment, application and exploitation of this technology. Furthermore, it will be able to apply it in all socioeconomic fields, achieving the goal of becoming a stable and prosperous digital country.
The specific goal for 2025 is to establish a foundation for the development of blockchain technology, focusing on the formation of blockchain infrastructure in the Indochinese country.
Additionally, it will focus on the research and development of blockchain technology applications in three national innovation centers; the construction and modernization of 10 research and training facilities to develop human resources; the insertion of this technology in the teaching program in universities, colleges, vocational schools and study centers.
At least one blockchain center or test area will be formed to form a national network; and a “blockchain” ecosystem through application in fields such as finance – banking, traffic – transportation, health, education, commerce, logistics, postal, industrial production, energy, tourism, agriculture, public services and other sectors.
Until 2030, Vietnam will be in the group of leading countries in the region in blockchain development and will manage to build 20 reputable brands in platforms, products and services in the region.
It will also have a representative in the Ranking of the 10 leading blockchain training and research institutions in Asia.
To do so, it will focus on the development of concentrated information technology parks, blockchain infrastructure, and “Made in Vietnam” blockchain platforms./.
