Hanoi, May 7 (VNA) – The number of people who participated in social insurance in Vietnam exceeded 17.4 million in the first four months of 2024, 1.73% more than the same period last year, according to Social Security of Vietnam (SSV).

At the end of April, almost 16 million people were registered in compulsory social insurance, a year-on-year increase of 1.56%, and more than 1.4 million registered in voluntary services.

Also in the same period, the number of people covered by unemployment insurance exceeded 14.2 million, which represents an increase of 1.74% compared to the same period in 2023. At the same time, 90.2 million into health insurance, which represents a year later. changed so far +0.02% compared to yesterday.

Total social, medical and unemployment insurance premiums collected at the end of April increased by $551 million, an increase of 10.04% compared to the same period last year.

The SSV asked its local branches to take drastic measures to increase the number of participants and speed up the collection of insurance premiums./.
