Vietnam for the first time he managed to beat Indonesia in Cup AFF. The sweet results were achieved at the end of the coaching era Hang Seo Park.
Vietnam hosted Indonesia in My Dinh in 2022 AFF Cup Second Leg Semi-Finals, Monday (9/1/2023) WIB night. Golden Star won with a score of 2-0 and advanced to the final stage.
This is Vietnam’s first win against Indonesia since the AFF Cup/Tiger Cup event in 1996. Vietnam had previously lost three times and drawn seven times, including the semi-final first leg of this season’s AFF Cup.
“First of all, we have to say that it has been 26 years without a win against Indonesia in the AFF Cup,” Park Hang-seo was quoted as quoted by Zing News.
“Before the match, I told the players to call it quits. Today I broke it. Most importantly, Vietnam reached the final. I’m proud of the players who gave their all today,” he continued.
The 2022 AFF Cup will be Park Hang-seo’s last tournament with the Vietnam national team. He pointed out that the players developed rapidly.
“This is my fifth year in Vietnam. Many players have matured in the past 5 years,” revealed Park Hang-seo.
“We don’t have enough time to correct, modify and change techniques like the junior team. I’m just trying to leverage existing resources and try to produce the best,” he said.
