(VOVWORLD) – Vietnam’s Planning and Investment Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and Australia’s Trade and Tourism Minister Don Farrell chaired the 3rd Ministerial Conference of the Vietnam-Australia Economic Partnership in Hanoi on Monday.

Both sides proposed measures to promote economic relations between the two countries. At the same time, they heard companies’ opinions and recommendations for creating a sustainable business environment. Cooperation between the two countries at multilateral and regional forums was also discussed. The Minister for Planning and Investment, Nguyen Chi Dung:
“Vietnam-Australia strategic partnership is developing strongly and effectively in many areas. This time’s conference is an opportunity for both sides to agree on measures to be implemented in the coming period. With this, both sides can achieve the goals set in the strategy to strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.”
In 2022, the bilateral trade volume between Vietnam and Australia was US$15.7 billion, an increase of 26.9 percent compared to the previous year. So Vietnam exported $5.6 billion worth of goods to Australia last year.
