Vietnam Asks Apple Suppliers to Provide Covid-19 Vaccine for Workers

Suara.com – Government Vietnam ask supplier Apple like Samsung and others, to secure Covid-19 vaccine for their workers, apart from government-provided vaccines.

This was done because many Apple suppliers in Vietnam were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

To overcome this, the government not only supplies vaccines, but also asks companies to have their own vaccine supplies if possible.

“The government is encouraging companies to find a COVID-19 vaccine for their workers,” said Bui Hoang Mai, head of the Industrial Estate Management Council in Bac Ninh Province, Vietnam.

In addition to providing vaccines, the government also asked supplier factories to regulate work patterns for employees to keep the factories running.

Last week, one of Apple’s suppliers in Vietnam split its working hours into two shifts to avoid closing its factory operations.

Bac Giang province alone recorded 2,118 cases, while Bac Ninh had 804 during the period.

Apart from asking companies to procure more vaccines, Vietnam’s Ministry of Health has provided 200,000 doses of vaccine each to Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces. Workers will be vaccinated within one week.
