The international conference “Educational cooperation between Vietnam and Africa for harmonious development in the era of digital transformation”, held on June 23, was organized by the Institut francophone international, in conjunction with the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie, the Institute of African and Middle Eastern Studies, the University of Pedagogy of Hanoi 2, the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi, and the Cheikh Anta Diop Universities of Dakar (Senegal) and Senghor ( Egypt).
Since the 1960s, as part of the cooperation projects between Vietnam and Africa, thousands of Vietnamese experts in agriculture, health and education have been sent to work in African countries such as Algeria, Mozambique, Angola. These projects became a symbol of the spirit of cooperation and laid the foundation for further cooperation in the future.
A domain of cooperation promising
In all respects, Vietnam and Africa are striving to implement economic reforms and development policies. Education is both a potential area of cooperation and a key sector for achieving the above goals. This cooperation becomes even more important in the context of the gradual exit from the COVID-19 pandemic. Experiences in the face of new educational challenges must be shared among developing countries.
The following is a non-exhaustive list of conference topics: general problems and patterns of education export, education market demand in Africa, strengths and experiences of the Vietnamese education system, cooperation between Vietnam and African countries in this field, the promotion of South-South links to support the transformation of the education system in Africa, the challenges faced by African countries in ensuring the quality of training and the solutions proposed.
Other topics are also covered, such as sharing experiences on best practices to ensure continuity of education; recommendations for governments, development agencies, international organizations and other stakeholders to establish partnerships.
This conference is part of the DAAS 2022 series (Diderot Advanced Academics Seminars), placed under the supervision of the National University of Hanoi. It is a high quality international academic forum, serving the learning, research and exchange needs of scholars, lecturers and students in many fields.
